Paula Bames
After a successful career as a furniture maker, Paula transitioned into primary education, bringing her hands-on skills and creativity into the classroom. A passionate camper and DIY enthusiast, she spent many years volunteering with a local charity (where she met Shar) before taking the next step: qualifying as both a Forest School practitioner and an adult educator. Paula is especially passionate about fire skills, axe use, camping techniques, and fostering communication and connection in all its forms.
Shar Brown
Shar’s career began in the civil service before she transitioned into primary education, where her commitment to her community took root. As the coordinator of a local cooperative youth group, she not only guided young people but also developed projects. This naturally evolved into a position at a local charity, designing and delivering outdoor learning courses (where she met Paula). Shar's love for nature takes its form in whittling, walking, wild swimming, or even just learning something new.
